Anamaria Marinca bio
Anamaria Marinca, born in Romania, is an actress. She was awarded an award called the British Academy Television Award of Best Actress for the Channel 4 Film Sex Traffic. She speaks fluently French, German English, as well as Romanian. Her father is a theater instructor at one of Romania's top acting schools. She won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year in 2000 at The Mangalia Young Actor Gala. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her as a European Shooting Star in 2008. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for this role. Her debut film Sex Traffic, won an award from the British Academy of Television, for Best Actress. She also won numerous prizes for her performance in 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days a Romanian Art Film. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 days (4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days) by Cristian Mungiu. The film received the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other prizes (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also a part of her career. In 2008, she played Yasim anwar in BBC mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca appeared in the Romanian drama Boogie and in Oliver Hirschbiegel's critically acclaimed Five Minutes of Heaven. Later, she had a major part in the film Fury in which she played the role of a German woman named Irma Aunt of Emma.
