Awkwafina

Awkwafina began as a American rapper and singer, releasing sly tracks that tackled topics like racial or sexual identities with a funny twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood her career, she could perform a variety of tracks. Nora Lum was born to Chinese-Korean immigrants in Forest Hills Queens. Her first experience with music came via the trumpet. Her classical, jazz and hip-hop training began as she was a teenager. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. Then, she even had a short time studying Mandarin in Beijing. She turned her attention towards music after she completed her degree. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success on the Internet before settling on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body-positive Queef and winking hometown tour NYC Bitche$. The song was directly connected to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. Her resume included both author and musician. She was now looking for a new career path in acting. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in movies such as Neighbors to Storks. In the year 2018, she was offered many major roles like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. This June, she released her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
